Understanding the Misconceptions of Science - Don Lincoln Audiobook

Consider these commonly held scientific beliefs: Planetary orbits are fixed ellipses; we only use 10 percent of our brains; nothing travels faster than light; a thrown object’s trajectory is a parabola. They seem correct, but they’re all misconceptions that aren’t entirely accurate. There’s much more to the story than you think.
These magnificent 24 lectures are devoted to busting myths, clearing up confusion, and giving you scientific epiphanies that could change how you think about your everyday world. You’ll explore shocking truths about some of science’s most well-known - and often controversial - concepts, including the physics of flight, black holes, quantum mechanics, and even the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
Delivered with insight, clarity, and a healthy dose of humor, Professor Lincoln’s scientific epiphanies will have you rethinking what you know - or thought you knew - about the world of science. Learn to see matter not as simple spheres but force fields. Discover why most human characteristics aren’t governed by a single gene. Examine why astronauts in the International Space Station aren’t in zero gravity but free fall. And those are just a few.
These lectures are, above all, about awareness and respect for what an immense undertaking scientific inquiry and experimentation is. Regardless of where you are in your own scientific adventures, they’ll empower you with not just good science, but better science.

This is a very good lecture series that covers a wide range of topics. It’s not dry at all and Don Lincoln is excellent presenter.

The issue with sice is its theorys not 100% accuarte

The issue with science is mostly non-scientists misunderstanding, cherry-picking, and writing regulations and the rest (10-20% or so?) split between petty infighting and scientists not having read a philosophy of science book before.

SarahCon, if you cannot correctly spell 1/3rd of a 9 word sentence (including the word accurate)then it’s not surprising a basic understanding of science theory is beyond you.

Sancho2, Just as I don’t know what your local time was when you made your post, likewise I don’t know with Sarahcon, so I will try to extend to give you the benefit of the doubt I am asking you to extend. I don’t know how tired the authors of posts were when they made them. And I know I don’t proof read well when I’m tired.
I would like to remind you however that precision typing and functional literacy are not related, and neither is particularly related to an understanding of science.
Daenigma100 thanks for the download, I’m looking forward to these.

Thank you!!

Jeff mate, if the troll SarahCon (yes, I’ve seen heaps of its post and that’s a fair judgement) can’t glance at a single line rant and not spot that there is no such word as “sice” then my assumption is not tiredness but that they are pissed/stoned/munted/trolleyed.
And on those occasions I can be bothered to make the effort I’ll continue to mock them.
My only regret from my original post is in not thanking daenigma for posting one of the terrific TTC courses - so, Thanks D!

As a poor student many yrs ago, I was never able to follow along, so was institutionally and self-perceived as incapable of understand basic, rudimentary academics…going on many decades hence I find here a blessing of riches of understanding along with an insatiable craving to “hear” it all…thank all the uploaders.
