She has pioneered the brand-new research field of plant bioacoustics, for the first time experimentally demonstrating that plants emit their own “voices” and, moreover, detect and respond to the sounds of their environments. No! We have human psychology and plant psychology, but no plant psychology. Why? Because plants have no perceptions or intentions. Some plants exhibit “behavior.” and have been credited with “habits.” So much for “Personal Encounters.” And, pseudo-science!

stor7296, your belief that plants “resist nothing” is contrary to a large body of research demonstrating that plants not only mount active defenses against predation/predators, they also warn neighbors about specific predators, allowing those neighboring plants to formulate there own chemical defenses.
