Thank you. I’ve got and read Kindle e-book but will come back and listen to the audiobook. Taubes is important to me since I read his “Good Calories, Bad Calories” book and started Atkins diet shortly after influenced by it. I can only say that despite running 60-100 km per week and marathons several times a year and trying to stick to low fat calorie counting diet my body weight crept up from about 80kg in my early forties to 108kg in my mid fifties. Having started Atkins I lost 32 kg in 6 months and in next two years my general health improved immensely. My kidney stones dissolved and vanished. My hen egg size gallstone dissolved and broke to several small ones and then to nothing entirely. Rheumatic pains in my right hip and in my fingers went away, so did my gastric problems and occasional arrhythmia. I stopped getting colds and flu. Being 65 I run 10 km below 50 minutes and marathons in just above 4 hours running in my comfortable pace. If somebody had told me I could improve my health to that extend with diet only I would have never believed it. I hate activism of any kind, so I’m writing it not to convince anybody to that kind of diet but to give their diet some thought. I’d studied dietary ‘science’ fo several months before switching to Atkins and being a scientist myself couldn’t believe what a pile of crap it is. We really haven’t evolved to eating all that artificial factory made crap most of us eat today. One needs to study themselves and come to their own opinions but it can be so rewarding if you do it right.
