I doubt there is anything so very new about changes in technology provoking alterations in how culture works. The Canterbury Tales was written to be listened to, The Faerie Queene was written to be read: it means the two poems work in different ways, can do different things, and need different skillsets to be adequately understood.
David Jones’ Epoch & Artist is my favourite book of essays on the interaction; and that was published more than 60 years ago.
But Amusing Ourselves to Death had some fun ideas in it, and I expect I’ll enjoy this follow-on almost as much.
Only the future isn’t something to be afraid of (unless you are a Millenarian).

…or a barmy Brexiteer (who prudefully longs for the daze of the Brutish empire).
Thx again, hdgdf.
