An inspiring collection of the great thinker’s views on a rapidly changing world.
Nuclear proliferation, Zionism, and the global economy are just a few of the insightful and surprisingly prescient topics scientist Albert Einstein discusses in this volume of collected essays from between 1931 and 1950. Written with a clear voice and a thoughtful perspective on the effects of science, economics, and politics in daily life, Einstein’s writings provide an intriguing view inside the mind of a genius addressing the philosophical challenges presented during the turbulence of the Great Depression, the Second World War, and the dawn of the Cold War.
This authorized Philosophical Library edition features information from never-before-seen documents housed at the Albert Einstein Archives of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Thanks! This might just go to the top of my book list.

@Haru - You really don’t want to be on any list compiled by the chilling illodiini, from up there in his frosty fastness. He’s a cold customer.

@illodiini: Perhaps you should read the Great Humanist’s travel diaries first.
On the Chinese: “industrious, filthy, obtuse people”.
On the people of Ceylon: “They live in great filth and considerable stench down on the ground, do little, and need little.”
On the people of Port Said in Egypt: “Levantines of every shade - as if spewed from hell”.
He describes Chinese children as “spiritless and obtuse”, and declares that it would be “a pity if these Chinese supplant all other races”.
In other entries he calls China “a peculiar herd-like nation,” and “more like automatons than people”, before claiming there is “little difference” between Chinese men and women, and questioning how the men are “incapable of defending themselves” from female “fatal attraction”.
Nice guy.
