Regnerus seems to be implying that WOMEN are somehow to blame for the vast hordes of men spanking it to online pornography and as a result losing their interest in lasting monogamous relationships with real partners. Oh–and that’s mostly LIBERAL women, who are also “orgasm addicts” because they are less likely to belong to an organized Judeo-Christian religious sect, less likely to view sexuality as a sin, and therefore more likely to engage in sex for their own enjoyment OR, to paraphrase the book, to use sex as a way to add some kind of transcendent meaning and pleasure to their sad, empty, LIBERAL lives! GOOD GRIEF!!!”

  In the introduction, he predicts this very reaction to addressing a subject that many feel is taboo. Regenerus is a professor at the university of Texas. of course he provides the evidence his claims are based on.

  Today women have realized that many men do not have their interests at heart. They have realized that a marriage license is too often a contract for indefinite indentured servitude, a promise to shoulder, not share, the responsibilities of house work and child care. And no, not all men are like this, but far too many are. In a world of rational actors what rational woman would accept a work contract under those terms?

  Much about relationships is complex, but this isn’t. Women aren’t fools. If you want a relationship the minimum is to share the burdens of life, share in things like cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids. If you aren’t willing to do that much you’ll die alone and deserve to.

So along with the man having the modern problems and stresses of full time work, he has to come home to a complaining spoiled adult child like yourself, AND do the work you are traditionally meant to do, for countless eons, but if he doesn’t do YOUR work he doesn’t have your interests at heart? If you want equality, why don’t you shoulder those responsibilities AND handle the stress and challenge of full time work, if you truly are about equality.   Marriage is a partnership of two equals. If you go into it without that basic understanding it will fail. I have been married for 20 and both my wife and I work together as a team. Sex is about both partners fulfilling each other’s needs. This takes communication and patience. Compassion and love. If you are unwilling to do this then you will fail. It is not about women or men it is about respect for your partner.

  ERouting: That’s not true at all. Not that they don’t think that, they do, but this idea that most men don’t have their lover’s best interests at heart doesn’t comport with reality nor does this idea that marriage is a contract for indefinite indentured servitude. Firstly, men agonize over whether they can be satisfying to their partner. The whole male experience of size envy ultimately has nothing to do with their own pleasure but their ability to please their partner. Even teen boys feel this way when they’re virgins. They literally seek out information about how to please their partner, how to be appealing and pleasing to them, and the vast majority of males want their partner to feel loved, secure, satisfied, happy, and supported. Men have to actually learn, from older men, how to accomplish that relationally but then also how to value themselves and not fail women’s crap-tests.

  To your second point having different roles and responsibilities is not indentured servitude. It’s founded on the false premise that parenthood and children suck. It doesn’t and they don’t. Most men want to make their wives happy. They want to provide a great life for them. They want her to grow old with him and see their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marriage is the only institution that could ensure such a good outcome. Unfortunately it’s been horrifically chipped away at by the very things seen here and a third not in the description: No fault divorce.

  At minimum 70% of marriages that end in divorce fail because the wife decides to end it. She decides that and the laws do little if anything to stop her. Even if they do have some procedural barrier, when kids are involved it’s not hard to break a man into tearing it down: just threaten him with the kids. Child support and Alimony empower women to destroy their ex husbands, forcibly coercively get their way in the proceedings, and endanger their kids while they’re at it. The ideology that marriage is some sort of indentured servitude contract or that it’s some tool of the oppression of women has led to that reality and children and their desperate husbands are the hapless victims with no institutional power in the family court system to hold her accountable for all of the horror she unleashes. Even if the man finds himself in a place where he knows the wife is powerless to take the kids or at least hit him with child support and/or alimony to get his pay while providing nothing in return, she can always accuse him of some horrific abuse and often with not a shred of evidence, the family court system will take her word at face value and give her the kids and the money anyway. She can even use the accusation to alienate the father so that when the “well how much time does each parent spend with the children already” calculation goes in her favor by filing a frivolous protective order that takes effect immediately upon service and won’t see a courtroom to dismiss it as false (if that even happens) until after the family court has made its determination of custody.

  This ideology of antigamy, feminism, abortionism, no-fault divorce, pornography, hook ups, cohabitation, infidelity, and antinatalism forms what I call the ideology of the sexual revolution. Birth rates are down, the country is headed for economic and demographic collapse, immigration is not going to turn that tide, and our society cannot sustain it. It will destroy and has destroyed everything it touches, men, women, but especially and in some cases literally children.

  It’s always hilarious when a group of men who clearly CAN’T GET LAID try to tell everyone that it’s the fault of women that this is the case. You can’t get laid because you’re boring, angry, silly and totally unappealing to most women.

  I can just imagine how ridiculous you must look when telling a woman “well, you should serve me because there’s a zombie in the sky who is his own father and because there’s a red guy with goat legs who will happy if you don’t do what I say.” Yeah, wow, you’re quite a catch….

  The rest of you who aren’t like this are clearly gay and scared of revealing it to the so-called liberals you’ve spent most of your lives criticizing, yet are the only ones who will accept you.

  So I understand why so many of you are Christians so angry about sex, particularly when it’s presented to you as a holy thing between a preacher and a small boy…
